You guys! I'm super cereal right now! I've serving you up news of ANOTHER free game. By now you should all be familiar with Humble Bundle, considering how much I've mentioned them in this feed. It's quite frankly disgusting how generously they're giving out full, retail versions of some damn decent games for literally no money. What did we do to deserve such riches showered upon us? Honestly, I don't think we deserve nice things lately but maybe I'm just more cynical than I have a right to be. Anyway...
Homefront is what's currently on offer from the fine folks at Humble Bundle. A banner at top of the main screen will take you to the page to pick up your copy of the game for free (or just click here if you don't have that extra click in ya). You only have 1 and 1/2 days as of the moment of this posting to grab your copy so act fast! Since THQ went bankrupt a year after Homefront was released I can't link you to the official game website like I usually do since it appears to have been taken down. The IP was sold off during the liquidation process and eventually the rights landed in the laps of developer/publisher Deep Silver, who's been having a remarkably strong showing lately. As I write this they're actually showing the new trailer for Metro Exodus on The Game Awards and the crowd seemed very pleased and the Twitch chat is blowing up! So, good on them! Deep Silver re-released Homefront as the roobooted Homefront: The Revolution.
As an interesting aside, THQ was eventually picked up by Nordic games to make the most originally named THQNordic. They make games across all current platforms and hold some popular franchises in their hands, among them State of Decay (which I absolutely loved), The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (which I loved the first one) and Darksiders. The company is currently taking pre-orders for Darksiders III.
