Always Late Game Reviews would like to thank Jeffrey Dymek for his outstanding custom banner and logo icon! Our collaboration was quick and effortless as Jeff took Christopher's ideas and wrapped them up in a very attractive package. Our banner is a throwback to the early days of DOS and PC gaming, to a time when Windows didn't exist and users had to manually load operating systems and programs. The green monochrome lettering against the black background is a trip down memory lane for many Always Late Gamers who remember the now ancient early IBM PC's or the Commodore 64 and we hope you find it as attractive as we do. Check the Links page for links to Jeff's artwork which is all high quality and full of awesome...ness. Jeff is also available for commission work and has recently completed his schooling in web and graphic design! Make sure you e-mail him if your website or advertising needs to be spruced up or completely overhauled. For all his hard work Jeff has unlocked the "Always Late Gamer: Best Friend for Life" achievement. Want Always Late Game Reviews to give you a plug and help you unlock our totally made up and random achievements? Head over to the Contact page and let us know if you have any contributions you'd like to make to the site!
3/8/2017 NEW! - Hello Always Late Gamers! I've been neglecting this site for too long. The icy hands of depression and all that. Shout out to therapy, because I'm finally getting back on track! You'll notice a new blog page titled "News" where I'll be posting interesting articles or important announcements that I come across. Let me know in the "Contact" tab if you find something you think needs to be announced to the world but isn't getting the traction you think it deserves. I can't have eyes and ears everywhere so there's certainly things I'm just not going to discover on my own. I've finally checked into the site's metrics (and it's ad revenue) and things are surprisingly on the up and up considering I've been MIA for and embarrassingly long time, so there's an audience out there for you if you need my help getting your message out. Oh, and in the "News" tab I'm going to try to find reviews of the games that get mentioned from smaller, new, or independent outlets. We all know what GameSpot, Destructoid, Polygon, and the other large press outfits have to say and where to go to hear them say it. They're big for good reason, and their content is bar none, but us little guys and gals need some love too. So help me support the independent media; especially with what's going on in the USA now. I'm going to just leave that there. Keep in touch and, as always, happy gaming!
1/9/2015 - Always Late Game Reviews hopes you had a wonder New Years celebration and a very happy holiday season in general. As you can see even our well wishes come late! So after far too many weeks of sickness, general malaise, and the busyness of Christmas and such Christopher is slowly getting around to more video games and the excruciating process of reviewing them for you. Click the "Video Game Reviews" tab to check out what he thinks of Mass Effect 3 (it wasn't that great) and is working on gathering his thoughts for Shadow of Mordor (it's actually pretty good) and is working his way through his feelings on Destiny. He'll also be taking notes on iNfamous: Second Son since his PlayStation 4 library is slowly expanding. Just as a reminder Always Late Game Reviews is kept free through advertising and the revenue generated helps Christopher purchase more games for review since he's not nearly well known or respected enough to obtain early review copies. A PayPal donation link will be added to simplify the process for those of you who would like to pass a few bucks along to help keep this site growing. If you're interested in writing reviews and being mentored in the process of journalistic writing drop an e-mail via the "Contact" tab's form. The forum that is replacing the defunct comments at the end of each review will also be live shortly. As always, happy gaming!
11/20/2014 - Well, after a string of personal crises, Christopher is getting back on track with updating Always Late Game Reviews. Our newest addition to the roster is The Walking Dead: Season 1 which you can check out under the Video Game Reviews tab. It has also come to my attention that the comments section at the end of each review has been overrun with porn spammers so I'm forced to delete them. In their place I will be placing a forum so all you Always Late Gamers have a place to chat and discuss your opinions of our reviews and, in general, have a nice place to come and nerd out. A forum will be much easier to monitor for questionable posts and a simple click of a button will remove the offending comments or profiles. Some may slip through the cracks but if you let a moderator know that something was missed we will swiftly move in to correct the problem. I understand there is a lot of...um... "content" on the Internet, but Always Late Game Reviews isn't the place to promote it. There's other websites for that. I know 'bots can't tell the difference what a specific website is actually for so the forum setup may prevent them from having an avenue into our website due to the sign-up requirement. As with the now defunct comments section at the end of each review, when the forum is live I ask you keep it civil and clean. I'm really sick of Internet bullies and people being generally shitty to one another, especially since a lot of kids are beginning their gaming journey and coming online to talk about their gaming experience and are be treated as sub-human because of their age. Trolls and fanboys give the gaming community a really bad image and I won't tolerate it here. I will ban accounts if you push my buttons too much and I may or may not give you warning before taking action. And don't be the one to ruin it for everyone; if the forums start getting out of hand I'll just delete them too and then no one will have a place to interact with their fellow gamers. You've been warned. Also, please remember that advertising keeps us a free website We have bills to pay too and hopefully we can buy the domain and get rid of that nagging ".weebly" with our revenue, which will also help buy a nice (but reasonably priced...I'm a cheapskate and proud of it) HD camera so we can start up a nice YouTube channel for everyone. As always, happy gaming!
9/2/2014 - Always Late Game Reviews has been working hard even though content posting has been quiet lately. We have reviews lined up for you, but with the end of summer approaching it's been a whirlwind of activity for Christopher. A quick update for you all though, ALGR has opened up an account with Amazon.com and has applied for Associate status. We will be providing links in every review directly to the product page for the game at the Amazon website. We want you to get your game on quickly and effortlessly and we feel that Amazon will help Always Late Gamers get it done effortlessly. Amazon typically has prices you can't beat anywhere else, so those few extra bucks in your pocket won't hurt either. ALGR has been attempting to provide advertising through Google AdSense, to monetize our content to help ensure this site is kept free forever, but that process has been long and fruitless. Hopefully the product links provided by Amazon will not only help keep this site free but will also provide you with access to great video games quickly. Be on the lookout for links to the games we review in the next few days and as always, happy gaming!
7/22/2014 - Always Late Game Reviews has been working hard in the background lately. Get ready for our full review of Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends. We have also linked to Christopher's YouTube channel that currently doesn't have anything on it yet! If you think ALGR is good enough to be on YouTube let us know by filling out the form on the Contact tab. One Always Late Gamer has reached out to Christopher asking that Shovel Knight be reviewed. Unfortunately ALGR has a budget of zero dollars currently. If you have a video game you want ALGR to review that we don't own you may consider gifting it to Christopher. DO NOT impose gifting upon yourself. Paperwork must be filled out first and blablabla. Head over to the Contact page and drop us a line before you start sending us presents...as always happy gaming!
7/1/2014 - In case you haven't noticed there is some red text tossed into our reviews and in certain areas of our reviews. Because Always Late Game Reviews is totally awesomeness we have forgone the traditional blue hyper linking. Check around for any red text and you'll be sure to be taken on a trip across the Internet to some really great content that is hand picked by Christopher himself. All links open in new tabs or windows for your convenience so you can easily come back to ALGR to keep reading. Some links take you directly to developers websites or YouTube channels where you will find some of the most talented YouTubers out there. As always, happy gaming!
3/4/2014 - Always Late Game Reviews is now on Twitter! Our account is brand new so there isn't really much on there yet but as we continue to grow we're sure to be tweeting our brains out. If you don't feel like going to Twitter and searching for us there is a small icon in the upper left hand corner of all our pages that will bring you directly to our Twitter account. Be sure to follow us so you don't miss out on any tweets we send out! And don't be shy, we would love to hear from you if you think we're doing a great job or even a shitty one. Honesty is the best policy in our book. As always thank you for your continued support and, as always, happy gaming!
2/12/2014 - Did Always Late Game Reviews critique one of your favorite games? We've given all you Always Late Gamers the ability to comment at the end of each review. Do you agree or disagree with our review or just want to let other players know your own thoughts on a game we've covered? Want to let other players know where to find you to join in a co-op match? Use the comment box for whatever you please as long as it's game related and not too inappropriate. You've been warned all you Internet trolls and flame warriors...
